Cecilia Salinas is a visual artist and architect. A graduate from Tecnologico de Monterrey with a BA in architecture, she has recently completed a Master in Fine Arts in Photography, Video and Related Media at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She is currently based in New York City.
In her work, Salinas addresses the connections between the ephemeral qualities of photography and the immersive and transitory nature of images in our culture. She uses appropriated fashion and advertising imagery to respond to the ambiguous, surreal and uncanny nature of the digital space that is the internet.
